Holocaust Memorial Day 2026
A Holocaust Memorial Day service took place at the Mansion House on Tuesday 27 January, including a blessing, readings and prayers given by invited guests, schools and local dignitaries.
Residents were also encouraged to take part in a national moment for HMD, by joining people across the country to light a candle and place in the window. These candles honoured the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, of other groups persecuted by the Nazis and the victims of more recent genocides.
How satisfied are you with the safety of Doncaster’s roads?
Whether you travel through Doncaster by foot, bike, car or public transport, we want your feedback on how we can make our roads feel safer.
By sparing just 5 minutes to complete our short survey, you’ll be able to share your views on what we should be prioritising here over the coming years. We’d also like to hear whether or not you would support increased enforcement measures like more average speed check cameras.
Your response will help to inform our plans for the years ahead, so it’s important that you make your voice heard now.
Survey closes Sunday 1 February.
Smokefree Sidelines in Doncaster – Let’s Kick Smoking Out of the Game!
Football clubs across Doncaster are teaming up with the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA to support the Smokefree Sidelines campaign, helping create a healthier environment for young players.
We’re encouraging all spectators, coaches, and visitors to keep the sidelines smokefree during matches and training. This means:
- No smoking or vaping pitch-side
- Setting a positive example for children and young people
- Creating a cleaner, more inclusive space for everyone
Whether you're cheering from the stands or coaching from the touchline, your actions matter. When adults smoke or vape around children, it can influence their choices.
Let’s lead by example and make Doncaster football smokefree.

Alternative resolutions are for all year round, not just January
As the end of January is near, here’s your reminder that it’s ok if you haven’t started or don’t want to set goals or resolutions.
Setting goals is for all year round, so why not try choosing ones that prioritise enjoyment, connection and a little more kindness in your everyday life. Whether that’s for yourself, others, or the community around you.
Our resources to help with planning and measuring are available on our website all year:
