It’s National Apprenticeship Week!

Is a young person in your life thinking about their next steps after they finish school this year?

National Apprenticeship Week is all about celebrating the incredible opportunities open to young people to help them reach their dreams. Offering fantastic qualifications, real world work experience, hands-on skills and the ability to earn a wage, so many of our local young people are choosing apprenticeships.

We’re lucky in Doncaster to have so many employers offering these opportunities in a huge variety of industries, and this week we’ve shared a day-in-the-life of 19-year-old Bryn who is training with APB Food Group Doncaster on a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering apprenticeship.

Watch his story below

Did to know we also offer very own huge range of apprenticeship programmes at the council?

Doncaster's Great British Sprng Clean is back!

Over the past five years, volunteers in Doncaster have covered over 7,700 miles as part of the Great British Doncaster Spring Clean.

Could you help us add to that during this year’s campaign from 13-29 March?

Doncaster ‘Citizens’ Jury’ calls for changes to put health before profit

Doncaster residents have come together to form a Citizens’ Jury, to discuss how to protect our health from harmful industries.

On Saturday 7 February, Jurors shared their findings with MPs, local councillors and policy makers, calling for health to be prioritised over big companies’ profits.

These findings will help shape local authority plans and will be used to call on the UK government to set higher standards for how businesses design, market and sell their products.
