Gateway One Reaches Next Milestone
Residents and visitors to Doncaster may have noticed that the development site for the new 52,000 sq ft Grade A office hub, Gateway One, has reached its next major milestone.
The five-storey digital tech hub, located on Trafford Way adjacent to Doncaster Rail Station, has now reached the stage where the overall structure has been completed, with the building having been constructed to its highest point.
To commemorate the completion, delegations from across industry and the public sector gathered to sign a commemorative plaque and steel beam. Delegates that signed the plaque and beam included Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones and Mark Taylor, CEO of Automated Analytics, the flagship anchor tenants for the building.
Covid Day of Reflection
Doncaster will mark the National Covid Day of Reflection on Sunday 8 March to remember those who lost their lives during the pandemic and to honour the acts of kindness shown by communities and individuals.
The commemorations will include:
- Land art featuring a Yellow Heart can be viewed on the grounds outside St George’s Minster
- Yellow ribbons will be tied to trees in the city centre and there will be hearts attached to the ivy fencing on Waterdale for people to write the name of a loved one or service they want to honour
- Businesses will also be encouraged to place a yellow heart in their window
- During the evening, the Mansion House will also be lit up yellow
We encourage residents to get involved in anyway they can.
Celebrate International Women's Day in Doncaster City Centre
In celebration of International Women’s Day, ladies from the Violence Against Women & Girls group (VAWG) and Doncaster Safe Haven with support from partner organisations, are hosting an event in the city centre on Saturday 8 March.
The event starts in the Market Place at 2pm with guest speakers and continues with lots of activities planned at the Unitarian Church, Hallgate where attendees can enjoy arts, crafts, stalls, displays, meditation sessions and refreshments.
There’s still time! Help us improve food support in your community
We are working on a project, looking at different ways to help our communities access healthy and affordable food they need.
Ideas like, food vans, community food shops and easy pick-up points are some ways we can do this, but we want to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Food Access is more than just a shop nearby, it’s also about having the budget to buy food, the tools and skills to cook it and the transport to get it home.
Help us to understand your experience and how we can make improvements for our communities in Doncaster.
